Pearl of the Nile - abalone pendant

Abalone is a type of organic gem that grabs so much attention and seems to hold a great deal of mystery to me. Having such strong water energy but seemingly it is comprised of the cosmos and sky just as much. 
This really simple and serene pendant is meant to capture the mystery of the gem and the mystery of water ways themselves. You can see so much movement and in the composition of colors and how the light plays off of them. It gives me a feeling of moving more with a river than the ocean, hence the connection to the ancient and mysterious Nile. 
The setting, chain and clasp are all sterling silver 
The chain is approx 18”
